Colorado Hyatts are the Largest Corporate Team in Bike MS Ride

(Denver, CO — June, 2012)   Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the National MS Society announces today that the largest corporate team to ride in the June 30th Colorado Bike MS Ride is “Team Stay Fit at Hyatt”.  With 3,200 riders in the Bike MS and a total of 202 teams, 62 of which are corporate teams, being the largest is notable.

“Team Stay Fit at Hyatt”, now in their thirteenth consecutive year to bike and inspired by the slogan:  “Help Solve the MS Mystery – One Mile At a Time” will do just that on the two-day, 150 mile trek along the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.  The team is comprised of 213 riders plus 60 volunteers, all Hyatt associates, family members and friends from across the United States.  This is the result of a collaborative effort of the four Hyatt Hotels in Colorado:  Grand Hyatt Denver, Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center and Park Hyatt Beaver Creek.  Their commitment last year raised $158,000 for the fight against multiple sclerosis.  That brought the cumulative total raised to more than $650,000 since the team’s inception in 2000.

The aggressive team’s leader is downtown Denver hotel, Grand Hyatt Denver, general manager Greg Leonard who said:  “It is personally gratifying for me to have the pleasure to work with such dedicated individuals.  Their commitment is exemplary and we will continue to look forward to making each year even more successful than the last.”  Team Stay Fit at Hyatt’s goal is to reach $1 million raised by the year 2013.

The work goes beyond with the actual ride.  Each year in June, “Team Stay Fit” hosts a silent auction in advance of the rise to help raise funds.  Additionally, Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center’s “Oasis” tent at the June 30th overnight rest-stop in Fort Collins, has won accolades as being the “best tent”, complete with massage therapy, plasma screens, grilled to order burgers, chicken, pasta station and smoothies made-to-order, all served on the spot.  Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center hosts a carb-loading dinner for the team the night prior to the ride.
